Mentoring Programs

Several of our funding partners have further their impact on the lives of students by participating in our volunteer program. Our flagship volunteer program, InspireU, was launched by Capital One and pairs students from our CPS partner schools with one or more adult mentors.

InspireU mentors, who are vetted according to full CPS protocol, meet with students at their office each month for lunch and structured conversation. Through the program, students learn more about professional work settings and explore a range of important college/career topics including: learning styles, goal-setting, inter-personal skill building, and campus tours.

During the 2017-2018 academic year, 41 students and 67 mentors participated in InspireU alone. Mentors logged 726.5 hours, students 553.5 hours.
